Terrance Perry Volunteer Profile

Posted by Waverly Davis in Volunteer Profile on May 30, 2017

Terrance was born in Bessemer, Alabama, and grew up dedicated Alabama football fan, Roll Tide Roll. Upon graduation from high school, he served in the US Army for 3 years. After leaving the military, he attended and graduated from Alcorn State University. Terrance claims that he loves and supports the military, but really wanted to work in the financial industry. Terrance’s wife of 19 years is Cynthia D. Perry, a NICU Nurse at UVA Medical Center. They live in Palmyra and have two lovely daughters ages 10 and 13.

Terrance has been in the financial industry for 24 years, he is currently the Financial Sales Manager at First Citizens Bank-Pantops, and has been with First Citizens for 15 years. He “enjoys helping clients with their banking needs, from checking accounts, equity lines of credit, auto loans and many more services”. He works with small businesses to assist them with many financial services such as lines of credit, credit card processing, and business accounts. He takes pride in the fact that his clients know he values long term relationships and that he works hard to assist them.

Terrance is on CIC’s Loan Review Committee where he reviews and analyzes financial data for entrepreneurs that need loans for their businesses. As a member of the committee, he is responsible for making recommendations on how to assist CIC entrepreneurs. Terrance claims that he feels he does more than approve or deny loan applications, that serving on the Loan Committee is more about helping entrepreneurs. Most of the loan applicants Terrance works with are graduates from the CIC educational program. The loans are generally start-up money to get the business up and running.

Terrance has worked with CIC for over 2 years and feels he has met many individuals with very creative ideas regarding new ventures. A lot of local talent, that simply needs a foundation and guidance to achieve their dream. He claims that “I believe CIC gives entrepreneurs that chance to develop that foundation”.

Everyone should follow their dream, but there is always a starting point, preparation needed to achieve and become successful.  A great football coach named Paul “Bear” Bryant once said, “It’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference”. Terrance feels that “CIC assists entrepreneurs with the preparation to win, which exactly what I do at First Citizens Bank-Pantops”.

Thank you, Terrance, for your support of CIC!
